On Anna Maria Island, dogs are prohibited on the beaches. They must also be leashed when on or off Haley's property. You must clean up after your pet on the island or you can be fined.

There are two dog parks close by. One is near the ball field beside the Holmes Beach Police Station/City Hall. The other is in Bradenton just over the bridge from the island. Your pet will surely meet other new friends both at the dog parks and just out walking. The causeway (that you crossed when coming to the island - about a 2 mile drive) allows dogs to run free and swim.

Anna Maria is a dog friendly island, so you will find dogs are welcomed into many Anna Maria businesses and some outdoor dining establishments. As long as your pet is well behaved and unobtrusive, you will encounter very few problems.
